【摘要】:Testsmadeonamaterialunderconditionshereinprescribedareofconsiderablevalueincomparingtherelativesmokeobscurationcharacteristicsofplastics.Thistestmethodservestodeterminetheextenttowhichplasticmaterialsarelikelytosmokeunderconditionsofactiveburninganddecompositioninthepresenceofflame.Note28212;Thevisualandinstrumentalobservationsfromthistestcomparewellwiththevisualobservationsofthesmokegeneratedbyplasticmaterialswhenaddedtoafreelyburninglargeoutdoorfire.Theusefulnessofthistestprocedureisinitsabilitytomeasuretheamountofsmokeobscurationproducedinasimple,direct,andmeaningfulmannerunderthespecifiedconditions.Thedegreeofobscurationofvisionbysmokegeneratedbycombustiblesisknowntobeaffectedbychangesinquantityandformofmaterial,humidity,draft,temperature,andoxygensupply.1.1Thisfire-test-responsetestmethodcoversalaboratoryprocedureformeasuringandobservingtherelativeamountsofsmokeobscurationproducedbytheburningordecompositionofplastics.Itisintendedtobeusedformeasuringthesmoke-producingcharacteristicsofplasticsundercontrolledconditionsofcombustionordecomposition.Correlationwithotherfireconditionsisnotimplied.Themeasurementsaremadeintermsofthelossoflighttransmissionthroughacollectedvolumeofsmokeproducedundercontrolled,standardizedconditions.Theapparatusisconstructedsothattheflameandsmokeisobservableduringthetest.1.2Duringthecourseofcombustion,gasesorvapors,orboth,areevolvedthatarepotentiallyhazardoustopersonnel.Adequateprecautionsshallbetakentoprotecttheoperator.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationpurposesonly.1.4Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.5Firetestingisinherentlyhazardous.Adequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests.Specificsafetywarningstatementsaregivenin1.2and9.11.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThereisnoknownISOequivalenttothisstandard.
